I'd like to think I'm pretty good at coming up with a post theme, but sometimes the inspiration just isn't there. Fellow bloggers feel me. That is one of the many reasons I love being a Canadian Beauty Blog Member. There is a monthly theme, upon which members get a chance to vote on ahead of time. I'll admit that I don't always get a post up for the theme of the month, but this month's theme was too good to pass up. That theme? Skincare Saviours. It was tough deciding what would make this post, but I think I've curated a good sampling of my skincare favourites. Read on for my selections!
IDC Triology Mask | Amie Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask
IDC Trilogy Mask (full review)
I am always up for a bit of mask action, but this IDC Trilogy mask might just be the best mask. Like, ever. I'm on my second tube of this triple threat mask and will re-purchase time and time again. The mask combines mechanical, enzymatic, and chemical exfoliation to reveal wondrously smooth skin.
Amie Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask (full review)
A cleansing mask is something every skincare routine needs, and one I've loved (there is only a tiny bit left in this tube, a trend in this post) is this one from Amie. The pretty mint coloured mask has a peppermint-lime scent and works to cleanse skin, draw out impurities, and prevent breakouts without being harsh on skin.
Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Lactic Acid Cleanser & Mask | Arbonne Intelligence Rejuvenating Cream | Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil Face
Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Lactic Acid Cleanser & Mask (full review)
I love Philosophy for a number or reasons, but their exfoliating products top that list. Their lactic acid cleanser is a must have for me as the cleanser is gentle, yet effective and works to exfoliate with every wash. I find it a bit too gentle as a mask, but is an excellent day to day cleanser for brighter more raidant skin.
Arbonne Intelligence Rejuvenating Cream
A new product compared to most of the bits in this post, but a great one if you're dealing with dry wintery skin. The multipurpose cream can be used anywhere you have skin- face, body, hands, feet... you get the idea- and works to intensely hydrate. The formula features botanical emollients- including aloe, chamomile extract, sunflower seed oil, and a proprietary blend, Phytinol which includes alfalfa and chicory root extract- to replenish moisture. The cream has a lighter texture than you'd expect, with almost a whipped consistency, which is absorbed easily leaving skin feeling super soft and hydrated.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil Face (full review)
Oh, facial oils, how I love thee... Palmer's has a great budget friendly option that combines a whopping ten oils with vitamin C, E, and Retinol. It's hydrating, easily absorbed, and overall good stuff.
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum (full review)
Narrowing down a favourite serum is an incredibly difficult task, but this Jurlique option is a staple in my routine. The formula is packed with 18 botanical extracts, vitamins, and essential fatty acids to give skin a boost of antioxidants for the younger looking, radiant skin.
Vichy ProEven Night (full review)
I am a huge Vichy fan, but I particularly love ProEven Night. I'm just about to start my third tube, so you know it's a good one. The serum meets treatment works to diminish skin dark spots and imperfections but it also works to resurface skin leaving it smoother and brighter.
Derma e Purifying Youth Serum (full review)
So we all know serums are a concentrated does of skincare ingredients, but most also contain water. Not this guy! This serum boasts a water-free formula and an incredibly hydrating formula. It's become one of favourite pre-makeup skincare items.
Paula's Choice Clear Regular Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution | THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Soothing Mist Toner | Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toner
Paula's Choice Regualr Strength Anti-redness Exfoliating Solution (full review)
This is technically an acne treatment product, but It's become a full time staple in my routine. The exfoliating solution is gentle, but effectively smooths skin while preventing new breakouts, fading redness, uncloging and minimizing the look of pores, all while having a gentle formula that's non-drying.
THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Soothing Mist Toner (full review)
Toners aren't always very exciting, but I love a face mist, and this one combines the two. The water-free formula use 100% chia seed extract for a really pleasant, hydrating mist.
Thayers Rose petal Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toner
Again, toner is something that's hard to get excited about, but I really love this formula. It's alcohol free and feels soothing on skin. It's got a fresh rose scent that's refreshing, but not cloying and is quite nice as a facial mist if you decant a little into a spray bottle.
Fresh Rose Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream (full review)
This little eye cream (well, gel) didn't seem like it would be hydrating enough for my drier skin, but it's become one of my favouirtes. The formula features rosewater, rose oil, cucumber extract, and hylauronic acid as a light feeling gel that instantly absorbs.
Michael Todd Intensive Cream Lip Treatment (full review)
Lip treatments seem far and few between, but this one makes up for their scarcity. The cream based treatment sinks into lips quickly leaving them with a revitalized and smooth feel. Paired with the Eye Eraser tool it makes for a spa like lip treatment at home.
Vichy Idealia Eye (full review)
I am always looking for a brightening eye product, and Idealia Eye is just that. The radiance boosting formula works to to smooth fine lines and improve skin texture, illuminate shadows and correct dark circles.
The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Butter
I couldn't do a skincare post with a few body bits. I always have a pot of Body butter on the go, and am currently enjoying the spicy scent of Smoky Poppy. The sweet and smoky scent is really interesting and pairs well with a wide variety of perfumes. Plus, the body butter formula is rich and hydrating.
Delectable Moisturizing Fine Mist Dry Oil
Ooh, this one is amazing! It's a light weight body oil that applies via a fine mist without any oily feel or residue. The formula is a blend of argan , safflower and grape seed oils and (as the name suggests) a delectable sweet cream scent that's a little sweet, but not heavy or cloying.
Did you make it to the end? I tried to keep this brief, but I'm not so sure I succeeded. Do we share any of the same skincare faves? What are some of your must haves?
