Mary Kay Into the Garden Collection | Spring 2016

mary kay into the garden collection spring 2016::: press sample :::

Spring! It's most definitely starting to look and feel spring-y here. The snow is almost completely gone, the grass is popping up in little green tufts, and the little woodland creatures that my cat likes to stalk (from behind glass, she's an indoor beast) are scurrying around, Looking for their hidden loot, I'm sure. Anyway, with the arrival of spring, some the arrival of sweetly hued collections and a lot of pink. Mary Kay has offered us just that, a very sweet and feminine collection clad in vintage florals with the Into the Garden Collection for Spring 2016. Read on for a better look!

This collection contains a bit of everything, but I thought we'd start in bath & body territory. Feet get the very cute Into the Garden Pedicure Set, which includes everything needed for a foot loving pamper session- citrus-tee scented Foot Fizzies (x10), Into the Garden Foot Scrub (85 g), toe separators, and a nail file. Everything stores nicely in a white mesh bag.

Body gets treated to a delightful bath experience with the citrus-tea scented Into the Garden Soap Set. The set includes three bars for the gorgeously scented soap, each individually wrapped, and packaged in little box clad in the collection's special edition Patricia Bonaldi floral print.

Makeup comes in the form of the adorable Into the Garden Lip & Eye Colour Compact. The palette not only features the collection's signature floral print, but also includes four eyeshadows and three lip glosses. I'm not a fan of lip products in palettes, but these glosses aren't too bad. They give a sheer, shimmery wash of colour and wear quite nicely without being overly tacky.

The shadows have the same impeccable quality MK fans know and love- they're silky, easy to blend, and very pigmented. The shadows all run a shimmery (with varying levels of frost) but are gorgeous. The shades include a natural taupe, moonstone pink, violet, and plummy-brown.

Nails get pretty hues too, of course. The Into the Garden Nail Lacquer shades include Pink Magnolia (pale, whitened pink), Soft Lilac (pale, greyed, lilac) and Coral Blossom (pinky-coral) which all apply easily with two coats. I was very impressed with the two palest shades, as they didn't have any chalkiness and applied really evenly- a rarity with super pale pastels.

A glossy coat of colour is great, but a spot of nail art? Even better. Even better when it's easy. The Into the Garden Nail Appliques are just that. The transparent nail wraps can be applied over your chosen shade for a bit of easy nail art. The appliques feature pink and white spring flowers and a white fishnet-style pattern.

mary kay into the garden beauty blotters oil absorbing tissues

Last up, a very useful item- Into the Garden Beauty Blotters Oil Absorbing Tissues. I'm not usually prone to oiliness, but I always like to have a package of blotting paper stashed in my purse. You just never know when you'll need a blot. These blotting papers work nicely to de-slick, plus, like everything else in the collection, feature the floral packaging.

Overall, this is a great collection! It definitely evokes the feeling of spring and is undeniably pretty. What do you think- Yay or nay? Are you into the floral packaging?
