A late start to my blogging day today, but I just couldn't get myself started. The dull weather and rain had me all curled up with my book (and maybe a cat and some tea) and just didn't want to. I did manage to get myself going, eventually. I had to, someone has to chat about the new Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. Interested? Read on...
"A primer with the luxury of a face oil, infused with a blend of 15 essential and lipid-rich plant oils to moisturize the face for seamless foundation application and a dewy, youthful finish." - Smashbox
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil is a multi-use oil, but is marketed to be used as a makeup primer first and foremost. I'm all about priming with everything and anything hydrating, so I was very excited to try this. The oil is a blend of 15 essential oils- including almond, apricot, argan and jojoba- that hydrate skin and provide a smooth, dewy surface for makeup. The oil is light feeling and absorbs into my drier skin very easily. It has a soft camomile and lavender scent. I initially wondered about the scent, but it's not too heavy and does dissipate quite quickly.
While this oil is marketed as a primer, and works as such, it can also be used as part of your skincare routine in the am and pm and for other dry areas like the ends of hair, cuticles, elbows and so on. The pipette makes it easy to get as much or little product as you need and isn't messy- nobody wants oil everywhere.
Overall, I am a fan of this oil! I've been using it as both primer and a night time facial oil and have been very happy with the level of hydration it provides and that it absorbs well. It leaves skin looking fresh and dewy, but not oily, and of course smoother feeling. Are you a fan of facial oils? Tried this?
