Audition... is it not the most perfect rosy-nude?! I know, I've gotten ahead of myself, but it's a shade that makes my heart pitter-patter. Audition calls the Be Legendary Cream Lipstick range home and features a super smooth, moisturizing formula, and a nice hint of shine. The formula is a dream to wear as it's not only pretty long lasting for such a creamy finish (4-5 hours) but also hydrating thanks to the shea butter and vitamins C and E.

While the hint of shine in Audition is indeed lovely, there are times when you just need to go matte. Smashbox has made that even easier with their Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. Housed in a lip gloss sized squeezy-tube, the transformer has the constancy of silicone based primer. The clear gel is dabbed over lipstick (it can't be used on lip gloss or balms) to create a velvety satin-matte finish. It's pretty amazing when you try it.

While you can apply a translucent powder over lipsticks to mattify them, I've found they never feel that great and often don't wear well. I've found this transformer is really comfortable and is pretty much non-detectable. I did find that my lipstick wore away a little bit quicker, but that's the lipstick life which ever way you slice it. The transformer is non-drying (at all) so it's a great option for those who want the matte look, but need more hydrating lipstick formulas.

Overall, I'm totally smitten with these Smashbox products. I love how easily the transformer can switch up a lipstick, and am about ready to invest in the entire Be Legendary range (they're that great.) Have you tried either of these products? Want to? Have you had any new lip loves in your life lately?
