Holiday Luxe | Mark Holiday 2016

The big day is getting closer, but you've still got a few days to get some shopping in. If you're like me, you aren't done just yet. I don't know how people can every say they're done shopping. I always manage to find a little bit more for my giftees. And no, budgets are not my strong point. Anyway, today is about the Mark holiday offerings, which are all about a bit of luxury and easy glam.

Mark releases a signature holiday scent every year, with this years offering being Rebel Luxe. The Rebel Luxe eau de toilette combines dark plum, baccarat rose, and patchouli to create a deeper take on a fruity-floral. The patchouli adds some depth and warmth, but to my nose isn't obvious as patchouli (which I don't always love.) The overall scent is nice, there is some sweetness from the plum, but it's not too sweet, but also not too floral. For a simpler blend, you still get an interesting scent.

The bottle is fairly simple, but matches the rest of the Mark holiday collection with a sleek silver design and black brocade pattern.

Everyone can use a few more brushes, so the Mark Glam Plan 5-Piece Brush Set makes a perfect gift. The five full size brushes come in a silver tube that features the same black brocade print found on the brushes. The brushes are synthetic and super soft and great for use with powder and cream products. The selection offers pretty much everything you need- powder, angled blush, angled liner, eyeshadow, and blending brush- making these great travel brushes.

The holidays can always use an extra bit of shimmer and shine, so the cute little Nailed It Mini Trend Nail Lacquer Set is perfect. With two mini polishes in metallic hues- Silver Swoon (shimmering silver foil) and Foiled Again (bronze shimmer-pearl) you can take your manicure to-go. This set is even better than the usual, as it also includes a mini First Base Base Coat and Party On Top Top Coat so you're literally all set for perfect nails. Each bottle has enough product to do ten manicures.

The best for last, with the Tough Luxe Eyeshadows. The single pots of shadow come in three metallic hues- Scene Steeler (soft silver), Gilt Complex (bronzed gold), and Midnight Madness (deep blue) that all offer strong pigmentation and metallic sheen. These have a very smooth, creamy feel with a cream-powder texture that I find works best when applied with a flat type brush or finger for best results.

Overall, some fun offerings from Mark. My favourites are the shadows as they're and easy way to add a bit of holiday shimmer but will also make their way into year round makeup looks. A blue smokey eye? yes please! What do you think? Interested in any of these products?
