Festival season is upon us, which means makeup rules are pretty much off the table entirely. Even if you're not a festival goer, the mindset of anything goes, can be fun to adopt. Want to be a walking rainbow? Glitter-dusted fairy? Metallic robo-queen? Go for it! NYX is willing and ready to back you up on your quest as they've got a ton of new offerings in fun, bright, and bold hues with a side order of metallics, glitters, and duo chromatics.

Simply being a highlighter isn't enough anymore. Oh, no, To be a highlighter of want now requires a glow of otherworldly proportions or something special. The Duo Choromatic Illuminating Powder brings the something special in the form of (you guessed it) a duo chromatic flair.

Available in five shades, the highlighters have a creamy, smooth texture (albeit delicate, one arrived to me in a million pieces) that meld onto skin for a seamless finish. There is no texture (aka glitter or pieces) to emphasize pores or skin imperfections, instead a radiant glow that sifts shade in the light.

Of the two shades I've tried- Twilight Glow (pearl white with a blue shift) and Crushed Bloom (peach with pink shift) Twiglight Glow offered up the most duo chrome shift. It gives skin a ethereal, moonlit glow that is gorgeous, and subdued enough to wear everyday. I found the shift in Crushed Bloom to be more hidden and the shade is too dark for me to use as a true highlight. It does work beautifully as a blush topper though, adding a soft, glowy radiance.

When it comes to metallics, lips get washed in liquid metals and shimmering metallic goodness with the Cosmic Metals Lip Creams. The gloss meets liquid lipstick formula is super opaque with an easy wearing cream finish that's glossy but in no way sticky or heavy feeling. The gloss applies via an angled doe foot applicator, which allows you to line lips then fill in for precise application- a necessity with bolder, novelty shades.

Of the shades currently available in the range (I suspect there will be more added) I've been loving Speed of Light (rosy copper) as it can transition into more everyday looks than the super bold shades. Shades like Fuchsia Fusion (bright fuchsia) and Electromagnetic (deep teal) that are both metallic and packed with shimmer. Tip- to make the shimmer within these shades pop more, blot the gloss. You're welcome. If the bolder, non-traditional shades aren't quite for you, never fear. NYX has recently added six new nude based shades to the range *swoons*

Overall, you really can't miss with any of these NYX offerings. I love that they offer so many fun shades and finishes without the need to spend a fortune. What do you think? Do you have any favourite NYX products?
