Elizabeth Arden Tropical Escape Colour Collection | Summer 2017

I don't know about where you call home, but in my little habitat, it's still kind of chilly. I'm not entirely mad about the cooler weather, but it does seem a bit odd to dabbling in bronzey, warm weather makeup while still wearing a rather thick cardigan. Oh well, before we know it the hot, humid kill-me-now heat will be here and the summer hues of the new Elizabeth Arden Tropical Escape Colour Collection will be a perfect fit.

Available in six shades, the Sheer Kiss Lip Oils are an excellent way to add some shine, a hint of tint, and lightweight moisture to lips. These little pods of glossy oil are super cute with their unique squeeze centre and moisturizing formula. Formulated with coconut, avocado, tsubaki, and meadowfoam oils these are very comforting on lips while still feeling light and non-sticky. They swatch pretty intensely, but on lips just give a sheer wash of colour that can be worn on its own or over lipstick.

Can a summer collection truly exist without a bronzer? Possibly, but the FourEver Bronze Bronzing Powder is more than merely just bronzer. The round pan is split into quadrants featuring a highlight, blush, bronzer, and contour shade. The powders are quite soft feeling, and have a lighter pigmentation that works nicely as you can easily blend the shades and build them up for a more bronzed look. I find the highlight is a bit weak, but when mixed with the blush makes a pretty, radiant pink shade for cheeks.

Not only are the shades summery, the formula was well thought out as it contains balancing ingredients to soften and moisturize dry skin (hyaluronic acid, lecithin, and vitamins c &e) while absorbing excess oil (dry flo starch) for a silky, matte finish.

Lastly, a bronze beauty that will appeal to just about everyone (even me, a not-so-into faux tan gal.) That's because the limited edition Dare to Bare Body Bronzing Oil isn't a faux tan and because it doesn't give skin too much tint. Instead the lightly scented oil (a faint vanilla-coconut) imparts a subtle radiance and sheer veil of golden shimmer. The oil is lightweight and quite hydrating thanks to a blend of sunflower, jojoba, macadamia, meadowfoam, and pomegranate seed oil. I was initially a bit hesitant as the shade seemed very warm in the bottle, but it blends into skin seamlessly with just a hint of colour. Even the super pale can enjoy this for a touch of summery radiance.

Overall, this is a nice little collection to kick off summer. I highly suggest checking out the lip oils (I can't get enough of them lately) as they're just so comfortable to wear instead of a heavy lipstick or gloss. The oil isn't overly unique for this time of year, but I love the light formula and that the tint is so sheer. What do you think? Could your summer routine use any of these products
