Happy Friday, blog fans! Who else is pumped that it's finally Friday? I started the week less than organized and that theme seemed to run through. Ugh. We're wrapping up the week with a bit of colour. Bold glossy and matte shades from the new Mark by Avon Pout Velvet & Vinyl Lip Paint range.

We all know matte lips are here to stay, but with glossy lips making a bit of a comeback, the Mark by Avon Pout Velvet & Vinyl Lip Paints cover all bases. The two finishes come in eight shades (four in each finish) and offer a pretty long-lasting finish thanks to the built-in primer.

The Velvet formula boasts a creamy matte finish that doesn't dry down, but does wear well for about 4-5 hours without leaving lips feeling parched. The lipstick is light feeling on lips and the formula applies quite evenly with one layer- even the deeper shades.

If a glossier finish is more your style, the Vinyl finish is for you with a lipstick meets gloss formula. You get the full pigment of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss. I was impressed that for a thicker formula, this is only the tiniest bit tacky. The thicker finish works well at keeping the gloss in place (perfect for bolder shades) and their longevity. As the gloss wears, and the shine wears down, I find the colour stays intact and fades evenly.

As mentioned, the range is currently home to eight shades in the Velvet and Vinyl finish:
  • Quiet: beige nude
  • Spark: tomato red
  • Fantasy: blue based purple
  • Fancy: deep plum
  • Cozy: natural pink
  • Glamour: warm red
  • Shocking: classic fuchsia
  • Covet: blackberry with subtle micro shimmer

Overall, I quite like these! I really wasn't sure if I'd end up liking wither formula, but these wear really well. I suggest snagging them now if you're interested as Avon is offering them at an introductory rate of $10. What do you think? Need any of these shades in your makeup bag?
