Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Summer 2017

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone with this affliction, but I am physically unable to stroll past a nail polish display without taking at least one home with me. Does it matter that I already have pretty much every colour I could ever want? Clearly not. One brand I am constantly adding to my stash Sally Hansen. I usually peruse the newer Miracle Gels first, but you can never pass up the classic Complete Salon Manicure range. They've recently curated a little summer collection that includes fan favourites and two all new shades.

sally hansen tickle me pink

Tickle Me Pink is a strawberry red cream. It reads a bit more pink in person, but the red tones still come through. I had some application issues with the brush (more on that in a moment) but the formula was pretty easy going. Two coats.

sally hansen peach of cake

Peach of Cake is a peachy cream that did not want to play nice. This shade has been very popular (for good reason, it's super cute) but my bottle was so thick. Like, uneven, gloopy, and a big 'ol mess to apply. Above is three coats and you can still see uneven areas.

sally hansen get juiced

Get Juiced is a coral-peach cream. While not as thick as Peach of Cake, it's still thicker than necessary and needed three coats to look semi-even.

sally hansen tulips are talking

Tulips are Talking a medium almost bubble-gum pink cream, is one of the new shades. It has the faintest trace of shimmer in the bottle, but it doesn't read on the nail. It does however, have a great formula. Two coats.

sally hansen grape gatsby

Grape Gatsby is a classic CSM shade (a best-seller) for good reason with its gorgeous lavender hue. The formula is spot on to match, which is always nice. Two coats.

sally hansen ripple in time

Ripple in Time is the second new shade in the range, being a blue-based teal cream. I had some issues applying this due to the brush, but the formula was a bit odd too, as the polish seemed to dry too quickly and thickened while I was applying it. Two coats work for opacity, but I needed a third to even everything out.

Unfortunately, I've fund bad brushes come with the CSM territory. One instance, no biggy, it happens, but I have experienced poorly manufactured brushes (just like the two shown above) plenty of times from this range. Yes, you can trim them (I've done it with all my other duds) but you really shouldn't have to. I suggest purchasing from a store that accepts returns or will at least replace your bottle should you get a wonky one.

Overall, I like this collection. Its got perfect summer staple shades, and the all-in-one formula does wear quite well. Okay, I still use base and top coat (which are said to be in the formula) but these do look great if you're not into all that. What do you think? Will you be dressing your nails in any of these shades?
