How is the week over? I have no idea where this week went... I certainly didn't get to much of my blog schedule and will have to have a word with myself. Before that though, we've got this interesting little kit from Hard Candy. The Look Pro! Metal Eyes Chrome Eyeshadow Kit is a budget friendly way to bring a bit of metallic to any look.

Hard Candy Look Pro! Metal Eyes Chrome Eyeshadow Kit $6.97 USD / $8.97 CAD

Housed in a metal tin with clear viewing window, the Hard Candy Look Pro! Metal Eyes Chrome Eyeshadow Kit features everything needed to create a metallic eye look including:
  • Baked shadows x 4 (14 g)
  • Take Me Out Tonight Mini Liner (0.5 g)
  • Fast & Fabulous Setting Spray Liquid (10 ml)
  • dual ended brush & mixing pan

The idea is that you use add a few drops of the setting spray (in this case it's your mixing medium)into the pan. You dip your brush into the liquid, then into the shadow, and apply for an intensified, foiled shadow. I love that this comes with a brush, as the brush is of pretty great quality and the flat style works perfectly for packing on your metallic foiled goodness.

Let's talk shadows, shall we? The four shadows in the kit are baked, so they're perfectly suited to both dry and wet use. I found the bulk (3/4) did apply pretty well dry (silver was weak) but of course, are intensified when applied with the mixing medium. The effect isn't chrome, but when applied wet the metallic effect is intensified and looks great on the eyes. While I like the mix of very usable shades (silver, bronze, gold, and bronzey-brown) the two bronze-browns are very similar and look pretty much the same when used on the eye.

Overall, this is a great little kit, if not quite chrome. For me, the kit isn't a one and done as I need a matte or two for a full eye look, but for the price these are a nice little add-on. Hard Candy can exclusively be found at Wal-Mart, by the way. What do you think? Tried this or want to?
