I am always game to try a new scent, especially when said scent has a gourmand element. I get a case of the gimme gimmes when it comes to something a little sweet. The thing is, there aren't always many summery scents that feature true gourmand elements... That is, until now. L'Occitane has introduced their first gourmand offering in the cute little Terre de Lumiere. Spoiler: it's good!

"In Provence, there is a unique moment in time, when the light embraces the sky and blesses the earth with a fleeting interval of grace. This is the Golden Hour. When this light becomes a scent, it reveals an addictive and contrasting signature. A surprising fusion of mesmerizing gourmand notes and aromatic freshness- The perfect accord."

I get a bit apprehensive when I'm sent a new perfume. What if I don't like it? I always feel bad when I get a scent that isn't my taste. Luckily, Terre de Lumiere is not one of those scents. Housed in a soft gold bottle with an amber-inspired cap, the bottle has a simple yet chic look that I really love. Granted, it's the insides that really make this.

The scent, inspired by Golden Hour light, has an overall warm-sweet vibe with "zesty and aromatic top notes, this unique fragrance unexpectedly develops into delicate aromas of lavender, honey and almond from the South of France." I couldn't have said it any better than L'Occitane. The initial spritz has the sunny kick, but as the scent dries down it develops more warmth and sweetness with the lavender adding a soft floral element that really makes this something special.

I have worn this scent almost exclusively for the past month, and I just can't get enough of it. As a fan of sweet scents, I appreciate that this offers a summer appropriate sweetness with a warm, floral twist. I find this scent wears very well on skin, as it is an eau de parfum, and but doesn't have an overly wide reach- meaning you won't drown out those around you. I highly suggest giving this a go if you're looking to switch up your summer scent. What do you think? Does this sound like anything you'd wear?
