Avon Gel Finish 7-in-1 Nail Enamel | New Shades for 2017

avon gel finish new 2017 (6)::: press sample :::

*Does new nail polish dance* It feels like its been a while since I've dabbled with new polishes, but that changes today with a few shiny new Avon Gel Finish shades. The gel-effect range has had a few new shade additions that I have been loving. They aren't officially fall releases, but they do give me autumnal feels.

As mentioned, the Gel Finish range is Avon's take on the popular gel-effect / all-in-one formulas. They've formulated the Gel Finish to have seven benefits: shine, gel-like finish, protection, strengthener, vivid colour, base and top coat.

I normally use a base and top coat with all polishes, but for swatches, and out of curiosity sake, I did apply this on bare nails with no top coat. The verdict? great looking polish. All of the formulas are creams and they all applied perfectly in two coats. There was no patchiness or leveling issues, and any nail imperfections (ridges, dings, etc) were smoothed over without the need for base coat. While I do find this range wears pretty well, I still recommend a top coat to get the most out of your colour.

The five new shades in the range are:
  • Clover: dusty turquoise kissed sage green
  • Head in Clouds: cool medium grey
  • Violuxe: lavender-pink putty
  • Rose Noir: berry-fuschia
  • Terracotta: slightly dusty red-brown (aka terracotta)

Overall, some nice additions to the range. I am very partial to Head in Clouds and Violuxe, but I think all of these shades will get some wear once autumn-ish weather rolls around. What do you think? Need any of these shades in your collection?
