The Holiday Splurge | Cle de Peau Beauté Nuit de Chine Collection Eye Colour Pencils

I enjoy a lively debate from time to time (it's a moment where a know-it-all can really shine.) One I've found myself in more than once is the age old question of is it acceptable to gift yourself a little something at this time of year. I always fall on the yes side. A little something-something for yourself is no biggie, especially if it's something you know you'll never be gifted. As much as I love beauty, I tend not to receive beauty related gifts, which leaves me to my own devices. If you're looking for a little splurge for yourself (or a special someone on your list, of course) The Cle de Peau Nuit de Chine  Collection Eye Colour Pencils fit the bill.

Cle de Peau Beauté is offering up a small, limited edition holiday collection, but it does feature an elegant array of items inspired by the 'timeless elegance of decorative Chinoiserie.' As such, each of the products feature Chinoise florals and accompanying hues. The Eye Colour Pencils are exactly that, with a floral box and dark floral print on each of the pencils.

The set includes five pencils that work double duty as shadow and liner in a range of glittery and shimmer-satin shades. The formula is creamy and easy flowing on skin with a buildable opacity. The formula blends very well, without losing pigmentation and while it doesn't set to a fully budge-proof finish, does wear through the day without creasing.

As mentioned, the set includes five pencils in the following shades:
  • 11 silvery shimmer. There isn't much base colour, so this is best used over another shade/shadow.
  • 12 satin-shimmer teal with hint of a metallic shift.
  • 13 shimmery plum-purple.
  • 14 satin-shimmer taupe with a slight gold shift.
  • 15 shimmery soft gold.

Overall, this is a great set if you're feeling a little spendy. That said, they aren't so exceptional that they're a must have item. What do you think? Are you all about a beauty splurge from time to time? Do you need these in your collection?
