The Fast Five | Hard Candy Lip Love

It seems safe to say my recent blog posts are mirroring my recent beauty interests: palettes, skincare, and lip gloss. I've reverted to my twelve-year old self that is allll about gloss. Although, my standards have improved and I've moved past the Bonne Bell display... And onto the Hard Candy one! Jokes, but seriously, I've been incredibly impressed with the glosses Hard Candy has on offer. Read on for a closer look at five worth the space in your collection.

The Cashmere Silk Demi-Matte Creme Lip Colour is just that, a lip colour. It's neither a lipstick, gloss, or balm, but a combo of the three. The almost opaque lip cream has a smooth, almost balmy feel on lips that gives a fair bit of sheen, but wears down to something closer to demi-matte (as the name implies) but never really gets matte in a true sense. While not matte, it does boast a very comfortable texture. The seven shade range features an array of neutrals and pinks in varying depths, with Macaron being a neutral, dusty pink. It's gorgeous!

Plumping formulas are not something I tend to seek out, but in the case of the Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss, I can totally get behind them. Does this actually plump? I don't know. There is a bit of a minty, warm, tingle that occurs a few moments after application which feels like something could be a-plumping, but I really couldn't see any difference. What I do love though, is this formula: zero tackiness, a plush comfortable fee, and a glossy wash of colour. It's almost perfect, really.

Of the 24 shades in the range (12 were recently added to the initial 12) I have the shade First Kiss a pale, pinky-nude. It's sheer, but does give actual actual colur, and for a milky base, doesn't settle too much in lip lines. Oddly enough, the second shade Love Child, a sheer rosy-mauve, is a recycled Hard Candy name from back in the day that was a pale nude shade. Does anyone remember the old squeezy tube glosses that smelled like orange creamsicle? Those ones!

The Metallic Matte Mousse Matte Lip Colour have been in the Hard Candy line up for a while, but have had a little packaging makeover. The matte mousse (more on formula in just a moment) come housed in their own tins, which include a mirror inside. It's a little detail, but is super handy on the go.

These are labled lip colour, but are basically a liquid lipstick with a moussey, light weight feel that doesn't dry down. These are matte, but keep a creamy feel throughout wear. While Hard Candy does have a non-metallic range, there are seven metallic offerings that boast a bit of metallic shine without being too flashy Penny Talk is a gorgeous copper while Smoke & Mirrors is a smokey, purple meets charcoal shade. Actually, with these shades you've got your Autumn and Halloween pretty much covered.

Overall, I've been really loving these glosses / lip colours. The Plumping Serum has become a much love gloss as the formula is just so comfortable and pairs well with liners and lipsticks. As you may know, Hard Candy is exclusive to Wal-Mart, but (and this is new to me) does have a online ordering on their website now. Who knew? What do you think? Are you a fan of any Hard Candy products?
