October Faves

Talk about late... I was kind of considering not doing an October faves, since it is closer to the end of November, but I decided I might as well. Only a few of these items were purchased in October, but they all were in heavy rotation.

Onyx Professional Remove it! Sweet Strawberry
I used to buy this nail polish remover at Wal Mart when I lived in Toronto, but I could never find it after I moved. Needless to say I was pretty happy when I spotted this on my local store's shelf. This is not only a great remover (it gets through top coat fast!) but it also leaves behind a strawberry scent. Very nice! If you aren't into strawberry, it also comes in an extra strength formula that is watermelon. I hate watermelon, so I have never tried it.

Mark the Big Fix 15-in-one Big Benefits Balm
I don't have too much to say on this one ( I am going to do a full review soon) but I am getting a lot of use out of this. More soon!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (translucent)
This was a fast buy, on a day that I had run out of powder (I know who just runs out?) I am usually prepared with backups of the stuff I always use. Not that day. I am not exactly sure why I grabbed this powder, as I had never used it before. Actually, it was probably on sale. After I got it home I thought that maybe it wouldn't be the best for my dry skin areas, but it has turned out to be a great powder. I like that I can add more during the day (which I tend not to do) and it still looks natural without that dry cakey look matifying powders can sometimes leave.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara
Not a new product for me at all, but I grabbed it one day just to as a change from what I had previously been frequenting and it stayed in rotation. While I liked this mascara from the start, it seems to have grown on me. It made my lashes so long they were hitting the lenses of my glasses. I have never gotten that much length with any other mascara.

Elf Tools Mechanical Eyelash Curler
I have had a lash curler for ages and it has always pinched. I hated it. Needless to say I tended to skip the step of curling my lashes (even though it makes such a difference!) I had one of these in my last giveaway, and thought I might as well pick one up for myself too. What a world of difference! No pinching. The only thing I don't care for on this curler is that the spring mechanism is made in a way so they are always open, making them take up more room than they really should have to.

OPI Dim Sum Plum
Okay, I know it is fall and this isn't really a fall colour, but I didn't get a chance to wear this during the summer and I have been wearing a lot of black and grey (one of my favourite colours) and I needed a bit of a pop. I like that if you use two coats of this (even though one would suffice) it gets just a bit darker and more appropriate for fall.

Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss in Garnet
I am not in any way a wearer of red lip shades. I love the look on other people, but I just find I look totally clownish in most red shades. That is until I broke out of my box and tried this particular shade. I have to say that the photo is not the right shade, it isn't that red in person. It had a deep slightly fuchsia tone with red hints. The gloss itself is very nice: not sticky, but it has some hold and it is thinner formula so you can get just a wash of colour or build it on a bit more boldly. I think this is a perfect shade choice for red-phobics who want a bit of experimentation.

Have you tried any of these products? What were your October Faves?
