mark. Lipclick Luxe Lipstick- Pink Icing

If forced to sum up holiday cosmetics in one word, I think that word would have to be glitter. It seems to be the common thread in most (if not all) holiday releases. I can definitely get behind glitter bomb nail polish, a bit of shimmer on the eyes can be fun too, but what I normally don't love are shimmery/glittery lipsticks. Then I saw the newest additions to mark's Lipclick range (which are all kinds of fabulous), and I thought I might just have to give them a try, glitter and all.

'Luxed up for the holidays in limited-edition shades with a shimmering, high-shine finish, our full-color lipstick is more irresistible than ever! Formulated for a comfortable, weightless feel and dressed in an extra-special pink metallic magnetic tube that—in signature lipclick style—“clicks” closed every time'

As I mentioned, I really love the Lipclick formulation (reviews here and here) so I was excited to see a few new shades- and in the special edition tubes to boot, but the glitter? Er... I was not convinced that I would love it. I opted to go for one shade, out of the three available: Champagne, a nude, Iced Berry, a berry toned red, and Pink Icing, which we'll be looking at in just a few.

Pink Icing looks quite bright in the bullet, but on the lips, it is a medium bright pink shade with very fine pink/purple duochrome like skimmer. You have no idea how thrilled I am to say that this is such a pretty shade! The glitter is so delicate, it really isn't glitter at all, it's shimmer. It doesn't lean frosty (my other fear when it comes to 'holiday' lipsticks) and it has a nice shine.

The formula is superb: light feeling, non-drying and as I mentioned a touch of shine. This shade isn't completely opaque, but builds nicely to a semi opaque finish. It should also be mentioned that these do have a light minty scent, which I normally am not a fan of, but it isn't overpowering and does wear away after initial application.

Overall, I'm a fan! Have you tried these? What's your take on glittery/shimmery lipstick?
