Tilth Beauty Anti-Aging Firming Moisture Cream and A Flawless Serum

I remember a time, when I wasn't all that enthused by skincare. Sure, I used makeup remover, cleanser and moisturizer, but it was more out of necessity than interest. In the past couple years though, I find myself getting quit excited about new cleansers, serums, toners... you name it and I want to know about it.

Over the past few weeks I've been using a new brand (new to me at least); Tilth Beauty. I've been testing out their Anti-Aging Firming Moisture Cream and A Flawless Serum. While I'm not so sure I need all the anti-aging properties of the moisturizer quite yet, I have been loving how great my skin looks and feels (maybe that's them working...?)

"Anti-aging Firming Moisture Cream was created with skin enhancing and moisturizing ingredients which will gradually, but profoundly, improve the skin’s elasticity and firmness. But, please do not take our word for it – use Anti-aging Firming Moisture Cream daily and you will see the transformation for yourself. Anti-aging Moisture Cream will help reduce the appearance of your unwanted facial folds and lines … helping to turn back your unique aging clocks."

To start, this is one thick cream. I was quite surprised when I opened the pot- the heavy, frosted glass with metal lid pot, that is, I was a bit worried at how thick it seemed. While my skin does tend to fall into the dehydrated/dry category, there was definitely the potential that this would prove to be too rich for me. Luckily, it's not. It's quite perfect actually. It provides a great dose of hydration without making my skin oily. the texture of this cream is quite different than others I've used in the past as well. As I mentioned, it's thick and creamy, but it isn't a creamy feeling moisturizer. It is similar in texture to the Nuxe Reve de Miel, in the way that it is almost matte and needs the warmth of your skin to spread out and absorb.

I was just coming out of a bit of a breakout when I started using this moisturizer and I did experience a little bit of stinging where blemishes were when I applied this, but other than that I can say that this was gentle on my skin and did not cause me to breakout one bit. Often times, when a moisturizer is too much for me I end up with little (warning blemish talk...) little whiteheads that appear in random spots. No problems here though, I'm glad to report that this moisturizer has been perfect for me.

"A Flawless Serum is the flawless blend of encapsulated Retinol, Myrtle Leaf Extract and Adaptonyl® that gives skin a flawless complexion. We all know the amazing benefits of Retinol, but did you know that Myrtle Leaf Extract is a true cell energizer and guardian of skin longevity? No? We are certain that your skin will realize it when you step up to the anti-aging ‘pro’. Stable retinol also helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and restores the look of UV-damaged skin. It improves the appearance of skin elasticity by 20% and the appearance of wrinkles by up to 17% after 12 weeks. A Flawless Serum. Along with Myrtle Leaf Extract, Adaptonyl® lifts and restructures the appearance of cell barrier function. What does this mean to you? Beautiful, healthy and younger skin… of course!"

Serum is a product I will admit to not always using... it's true. I know, I know, 'there are so many benefits.." Yeah, but... Anyway, I've become a believer. Since using the serum I've noticed that the overall texture of my skin is better; it seems brighter and well, better! I can't speak to the claims of wrinkle reduction, as I'm not quite at that stage yet, but I can say that my skin seems to love the formulation of this product.

The serum is very thin in texture, making it very easy to apply as it spreads out quite easily. I did find that it felt a bit tacky on my skin when first applied, but luckily that feeling doesn't last and is gone by the time I apply the moisturizer. The serum is housed in a plastic bottle with a pump that allows for easy dispensing. I like that the dispenser only allows you to dispense a small amount at a time, since the fluidity of the serum makes it easy to get everywhere if you aren't paying attention. I may have gotten it everywhere the first time I used it.... in my defense, I wasn't expecting it to be that runny.

It was only a few days after using both the moisturizer and serum that I began to notice a difference in my skin. My nose had been particularly dry and was flaking a bit (not cute at all) and my chin/around my mouth was drier than usual, but the duo banished that quite quickly. I don't mean to boast, but seriously, my skin is looking and feeling quite fabulous, and these two products have been the only difference in my normal skincare routine. I highly suggest giving them a try, especially if you have dehydrated skin. They'll be your best buddies all winter. Have you tried anything by Tilth? What did you think?
