December Glossy Box - Canada

Hello, Blog fans! I don't have much of a wordy intro for your reading pleasure today, so let's just get down to business, shall we?

A couple of days ago, when I checked my mail, I was excited to find December's Glossy Box! I doubt there is anyone reading this who doesn't know what Glossy Box is by now, but if you don't know, it's a monthly subscription service that selects five deluxe size samples (and quite often a few full size as well) which are shipped to you in a very cute pink box. For more detailed information, see here.

December Glossy Box- Canada $21*

From the moment I picked up the box, I had a feeling that this was going to be a great box. It was so weighty! Indeed, this box has some great products, and all but one (well, two, but they're a set, so...) are full size. The only small thing I could nit pick about, is the fact that I got two hand creams, but there were a variety of Vitabath items one could receive, and I just happened to get a hand cream in addition to the Curel one. Luckily, I'm currently a hand cream fiend, and will gladly use both.

Vitabath Shea Butter Hand Cream in Fresh Citrus Twist and Curel Hand & Cuticle Therapy Cream

Vitabath Shea Butter Hand Cream in Fresh Citrus Twist $15.00 (full size)
This hand cream has a thick texture more like body butter than hand cream. I found it to be a touch greasy when first applied, but it did absorb nicely after a few moments. The citrus scent is light, but refreshing and natural smelling.

Curel Hand & Cuticle Therapy Cream $3.99 (full size)
This is the second time I've received a Curel product from Glossy Box, and I have to say I've been really happy with both items. It's a brand that I likely wouldn't have bought for myself, but between the foot cream that came in a previous box, to this hand cream, I can see myself being a frequent Curel user. The hand cream has a lighter texture than I was expecting, but it absorbs almost instantly and is incredibly hydrating.

Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy Clear Total Care Shampoo and Conditoner (sample size)
These little guys, are the only deluxe samples this month. I haven't used these yet, but they do smell quite nice, and will be perfect for traveling.

Maybelline MNY My Gloss in 'Gemey Paris', Kryolan for Glossy Box Blusher in 'Glossy Rosewood', and Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Holiday Collection polish in 'Keeping up with Santa'

Maybelline MNY My Gloss in 'Gemey Paris' $7.99 (full size)
This little gloss was a complete surprise, as I had never heard of the MNY line from Maybelline. I will admit that I didn't have high expectations for the gloss based on the packaging, but it is actually not too bad. It doesn't impart much colour, but the shimmer in it does reflect nicely once on, and the formula is quite comfortable to wear. Overall, a nice little gloss.

Kryolan for Glossy Box Blusher in 'Glossy Rosewood' $16.73 (full size)
Kryolan is a brand I wasn't aware of at all, until I received the Glossy edition lipstick in a previous box. The brand is known among professional makeup artists and has a reputation for high quality products. The blusher in Glossy Rosewood, is a very pretty, matte, dusty rose shade. I wore this yesterday, an love the girly flush it gives.

Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Holiday Collection polish in 'Keeping up with Santa' $10.99 (full size)
Who can resist a shiny new nail polish? I know I can't. I was pleased to see this holiday appropriate shade. I normally go for cream formulas when I opt for red polish, so this shimmering shade is not a dupe of anything I already own, even though it's not the most unique shade. With two coats, it does read a bit vampier than what I've shown in the swatch.

If we do the math, this box ends up being valued at $54.70, and that is not including the cost of the deluxe samples (the shampoo and conditioner) or shipping, so you are defiantly getting your $21 out of the service. Do you subscribe to Glossy Box? What did you think of your items this month?
