The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag

Happy Sunday, everyone! I've been hiding out, trying to keep my cold germs to myself- I'm finally starting to feel a bit better, but I thought I'd take a bit of time to catch up on my blogroll reads. I was having a hard time reading anything on my screen for a few days. The screen lighting was too bright, it irritated my eyes and then gave me a headache. You know when you feel terrible and everything you try to do to get your mind off of it makes you feel worse? It was like that. Luckily, that's passed.

What I'm getting at, is that I read a bunch of blogs, and discovered I'd been tagged. Aly of Wonderland Beauty (check her out if you're not already following her!) tagged me as part of the Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag. It seemed like a fun little post, so let's get to it!

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do
Body scrubs. I always have one in the shower, but it usually ends up being an after thought while I'm getting out of the shower: 'Oh... right. Yeah. I should have done that...Next time. For serious." I've had that conversation so many times. Actually, it reminds me I have to put another scrub in my shower. I finished my last one, a few weeks ago.

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
Yes- sort of. I always lay out a facial wipe when I do my makeup so I can spot clean everything as I use them. I am quite diligent when it comes to making sure my foundation/concealer brushes are washed weekly. The rest of my brushes get deep cleaned a little less frequently, but I don't use everything all the time.

3. How long will you last with chipped nails?
No time. I can't stand chipped nails. If I chip a nail I end up thinking about it all day until I can fix it. I think it stems from the fact that that was one of the few rules my parents had about me wearing makeup at a young age. When nail polish was chipped/worn I either had to touch it up or re-do it. I'm a bit perfectionist, so I usually end up re-doing it.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it?
Woah, woah, woah. Do people really wait until they've finished something before they buy more? I certainly am not one of those people. I have backups/replacements for pretty much everything already stashed away and just waiting for their turn. I was organizing a few days ago and realized I need to hold up on the mascara front as I have 6 new tubes. Actually, this reminds me I need to pick out a new moisturizer too!

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
This one is bad... I brush my hair- like full on brush it- when it's still wet. I know I shouldn't, but I like to get the tangles and what not out as soon as possible and a comb through just isn't enough for me. I have started using a jumbo comb in the shower to comb my conditioner through and do a pre-detangling.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time
Cleaning out my closet. Urgh. It's a straight up mess, and I have a couple of boxes of clothes that I never added back to it after the renovations were done. I need to get more hangers and then just force myself to  get it done. I know I'll feel better when I do it, it's just going to be such an annoying job!

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
In a perfect world, no. I like getting ready, but all the fun is sucked out of it when you're rushed. I like to be able to take my time and primp and preen for as long as I like, preferably without someone breathing down my back asking how long I'm going to take. Of course, life is rarely perfect, so I will pre-select my clothes/ accessories/makeup ahead of time or the night before if I know I might be rushed or I'm prepping for a stressful event (like a job interview, as above!)

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
Err... not so much. I try to do 'unofficial' spending bans, more as a way to reign myself in, but if I go full on 'No spending for X amount of time' it's going to fail. Thanks to Paypal, I've managed to go for a few months without using my credit card, which is pretty awesome. It would be nice if more sites had Paypal as a payment option though. I love being able to pay directly out of my bank account.

it's neater now... a bit

9. How organized is your makeup and nail polish collection?
It's still a work in progress, but it's decent. I need to be able to see what I'm working with, or I'll completely forget about it, so open, yet stored type storage is ideal for me.I was working on a few up grades just the other day (would that something you gals would be interested in seeing? My organization/set up?) I picked up two 24 slot lipstick 'stadiums' - I call them that because they resemble stadium seating. It sparked a bit of a lipstick clean/clear out (a bunch are in the 'to friends' pile) and a bit of a shuffling on my vanity/desk. I still have some shelves to go up over my area, so once they're up, I'll be able to stream line a bit better.

10. What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?
The longest has been about a month, but that hasn't happened in quite a while. Usually the longest is only a couple of days, as I do take weekends off every now and then, especially if I feel I'm particularly 'caught up'. Meaning, have I posted an average of at least one post per day of the month and or based on how many products I have waiting to be reviewed, particularly time sensitive products (ie. limited editions or seasonal products.)
