stila portrait of a perfect blush cheek palette

Hey, hey, hey!

Hopefully everyone has emerged from their candy-comas relatively unscathed...yeah? Now that Halloween is said and done, we can get back to all the Holiday items that have been rolling out with steady succession. Today I've got the Stila Portrait of a Perfect Blush Cheek Palette, which at a mere $19 is an incredibly budget friendly way to share a pop of colour this holiday season. Or, you know,  hoard for yoursef, that works too... Read on!

'Make spirits bright this holiday season with these four adorable must-have paper-wrapped palettes, each featuring a vintage stila girl adorned on the cover. The palettes are sure to have you looking fabulous from caroling to cocktails and everywhere in between. Choose from 4 distinctly different palettes: eye shadow palette with six versatile shades, cheek palette with five shades, or lip palettes in two options (neutral lip or vibrant lip) each with six luxe shades.'

I love the idea of a blush palette- I'm surprised there aren't more actually- as they offer selection and are so easy to store. Stila Portrait of a Perfect Blush Cheek Palette is super slim and sleek with no wasted space, so it should fit in even the most cramped collection. It's long-ish, but not so long that it won't fit in a med.-large makeup bag. While the palette is cardboard, it's coated and feels pretty sturdy. The lid is magnetized and closes well so it should hold up pretty well over the long run.

The individual blushes are slightly smaller than a full size blush pan (think the MAC size as average- these are smaller.) Since they're also pretty close together, a brush with a bit of a point works best to pick up product. I like to use the Real Techniques Blush Brush as it's great for blending and has a slightly pointed tip.

All five shades in this palette have great pigmentation- even the mattes- are smooth and easy to apply. They blend out easily and last well- the better half of 6 hours on me.

Golden is a medium brown shade with very minimal light gold shimmer. The shade works as both a nude blush and bronzer as the shimmer is very light. I actually like to blend a bit of this with Precious Pink for a pinky-nude flush.

Illume is a light, fleshy nude shade with light shimmer. The shimmer is very fine and just gives skin a slight, natural glow.

Pretty Pink is a coral kissed pink matte. This shade is incredibly gorgeous and I like that it's not ultra pigmented, making it easier to apply.

Precious Pink is a light baby pink matte. The shade is light, but not pale, making in more universally flattering. This is a cute, feminine shade that will work on a wide variety of skin tones.

Rosè is a plummy rose shade that is perfect for fall. It has a light shimmer which gives skin a lit-from-within glow.

Overall, this is one perfect palette. It's compact size, low price point, and selection of shades makes it the perfect gift for makeup newbies and addicts alike. Are you a fan of blush palettes? Will you be adding this to your wish list this year?
