lorac pro palette & giveaway

Who doesn't love a great eyeshadow palette? One filled with a mix of mattes and satins, wearable shades with a blend of neutrals and jewel tones and a smooth, pigmented formula. That just about ticks all the boxes for me, and what would you know... the Lorac Pro Palette ticks them all too. It's easy to see why these have been sold out everywhere; which may have been why I picked up two. Want a chance to win it? Read on!

'Go PRO with the LORAC PRO Palette! Created by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw, this PRO artistry palette is packed with 8 Shimmer and 8 Matte Eye Shadows in all the shades you need to create the hottest looks straight from the Red Carpet. LORAC’S velvety-smooth shadows are infused with soothing botanicals and are ultra-pigmented to perform wet or dry so you can shade, shadow, line and define your eyes, just like a PRO.'

If you couldn't guess from the intro, I pretty much love this palette. No, I straight up love it. There really isn't anything not to love about these shadows. The matte shades, which reside on the top row are superb- they've got the formulation every matte wishes it had. They're super super smooth and apply amazingly well with perfect pigmentation. The bottom row is made up of the satin/shimmer shades which are just as great as the mattes. The only slightly negative- and I mean slightly- is that the mattes are quite soft, so you really don't want to attack them with your brush or you're going to have a mess. A light touch is all it takes to load a brush.

The palette itself, is heavy cardboard with a soft texture- think NARS packaging- but it doesn't attract fluff and debris. The palette is long, but incredibly slim, as you can see above compared to Naked 1 and Naked 2. The slim design makes this easier to store (yay!) and travel with, if you're so inclined to do so. Oh, it also includes a pretty large mirror in the lid- extra bonus.

The Pro Palette offers a great mix of neutral shades with a couple of colours thrown in to keep you on your toes. The shades are quite universally flattering, but it should be noted that a fair portion of the satin shades are quite warm and might not be as well suited to those with really cool complexions.

The bonus eye primer that is included with this palette is a great size, especially since you need so little. I've found my go to primer (UD Primer Potion) hasn't been working as well as it once did, so I have been using this in its place and have been really impressed. It lasts all day, keeps shadows in place and just as vibrant as when applied.
