Remember the Mary Kay At Play Collection? Yes, no, maybe? Whatever your answer, get excited because they've released new shades to add to their current lineup of Lip Crayons, Eye Crayons, Jelly Lip Gloss and Baked Eye Trios- they're my favourite. Read on for swatches!
The new shades of Mary Kay At Play Lip Crayons (full review here) are not only perfect for Spring, but are even better than the originals. The first shade all had a bit too much shimmer/frost for me, but Coral Me Crazy, a peachy coral with golden shimmer, and Purple Punch, an orchid type, pinky-purple with silver shimmer, are pretty much perfect. The shades have a medium opacity, nice shine, and wear really comfortably on lips.
The Mary Kat At Play Eye Crayons (full review here) are now available in Over the Taupe, a chocolatey taupe (it does read a bit more grey in person) and Teal Me More a blue based teal with a bit of a turquoise duo-chrome action. I find that these wore better than the originals, as they didn't seem as creamy once applied, which prevented creasing, but they still don't set. That said, these are great for use as a base, and make excellent liners.
Following the coral and violet lip theme from the Lip Crayons, are two new Jelly Lip Gloss (full review here) shades with Poppy Love, a sheer peachy-coral and Violet Vixen, an sheer orchid pink shade that isn't nearly as purple as it looks in the tube. The formula is the same high shine, squishy formula quite comfortable if you don't mind a little stickiness.
Wearing Mary Kay At Play Baked Eye Trio in Electric Spring*
I was quite excited to see two new shades of the Baked Eye Trios (full review here) as they're pretty much perfect with three shades all in one little compact. Sunset Beach has an orangey-coral, a natural beige, and a slightly pinky violet shade while Electric Spring has a glittery silver, a vivid teal-blue, and a bluey-purple (a blurple!) These have the same baked formula as the originals that can be used wet or dry. I used Electric Spring above dry, but used the silver shade wet as it's quite glittery and is most pigmented when foiled.
Overall, some excellent additions to the At Play line up. I love the Baked Eye Trios but have also become quite fond of the Jelly Lip Gloss too- especially Violet Vixen! See anything you like?
