Last weekend, I spent an hour our two doing inventory. I made a master list of all the goods in my 'to blog' pile. It was most definitely a pile and I was growing uneasy with my lack true organization. In my sort and file, I came across the very pink Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amalfi. It arrived with some fall bits, but it just seemed too pink to be a fall release. It's just so... pink. Turns out it's not a fall shade at all (surprise, surprise) but a summer release. That's a-okay, because it just happens to be Wednesday and you know what we wear...

Pink. In this case, a very bold and bright hot pink. Amalfi does have a slight coral lean, but really, it's feet are firmly planted in pink territory. The pink shade is not for the shy as it makes a major statement all on it's own. The matte formula makes it an easy bold as it's formulated to be fully budge and transfer-proof.

Now, Stila Baci Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick is one of my ride or die shades, so I'm very familiar with how these should apply and wear, but Amalfi... It's the trouble child. My first application resulted in really streaky colour, and major flaking 20 minutes after. Not so great. I've learned that Amalfi applies best in very thin coats with ample drying time between, but even with a thin application it just doesn't wear all that well. It begins to flake at hour two or so and after that looks pretty messy. Normally, the Stila formula lasts up to eight hours with only the most minimal of wear.

Overall, I'm not an Amalfi fan. At this price point, and having already used other shades and loved them, I'm pretty disappointed. What do you think? Have you tired this shade or any in the range? What's your go to liquid lipstick?
