Every now and again a product gets into the recesses of my mind and just won't leave. Take the Cover FX Monochromatic Blush Duos, for instance. They came out a little while ago. I was intrigued, sure, but I was able to live without one. Days, weeks, months passed, yet they still remained on my mind. I finally caved and told myself to just do, get the damn blush and move on. What happened then? Cover FX left Sephora. Sure, there were other places to obtain the blush of my dreams, but being Canadian Sephora was the safest (no shipping issues and a set price.) What is a blush lover to do? Wait it out. At least that was what I assumed I would have to do. Luckily, it wasn't a long wait. Cover FX has a Canadian site, and they had a sale. Yada, yada, yada....As you can clearly see, my blush lust was finally tempered.

Was it worth the wait (and rent-free space in my head?) Oh, yeah. I mean, just look at those shades, that rippling texture... It really is a blush lovers dream come true. What does a blush lover want more than a pretty new blush? Two new blushes, disguised as one. The Cover FX Monochromatic Blush Duos give you the best of both worlds with a co-ordinating matte and shimmer shade housed in one minimally chic compact. Okay, I know what you're thinking "It's cream, which is essentially white, won't it get grungy looking?" I thought that too, and it very well might, but it is what it is. That's probably not the answer you were looking for, but whatever.

The range is currently home to six shades, with a nice variety of depth, meaning there is an option that should suit most every skin tone. I'm a neutral lover when it comes to blush (and lip shades...) and flip flopped between a few options, but knew it was Warm Honey that I just had to have. The shade has some depth for those like myself that lean on the lighter / fairer side of the spectrum, but when used with a light hand is just so pretty. Warm Honey is described as being a 'bronzed rose' which I have to agree with, however, the matte shade has a dustiness that I don't feel is represented by that description, you know? It's quite pigmented, but does apply in a sheer wash (again, go lightly with it). The shimmer side has a gorgeous radiance that gives a glow, but never looks like too much or migrates into glitter-town.

Overall, this blush is a pure delight! I love that the shades can be easily worn on their own or as a duo, and that the shimmer shade isn't too much (aka it's not a highlighter.) While my collection of blushes is far from lacking in variety, I may just end up with a second shade (I'm looking at you, Soft Peach.) What can I say, I really do lust for blush. What do you think? Tried this or want to? Have a favourite shade from this range?
